(JAB) تتصفحون الكتب تظنون أن لكم فيها الحياة الأبدية فهي التي تشهد لي

(ALT) "You* search the Scriptures, because you* think in them to be having eternal life, and these they are which testify concerning Me.

(ASV) Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

(BBE) You make search in the holy Writings, in the belief that through them you get eternal life; and it is those Writings which give witness about me.

(Bishops) Searche the scriptures, for in them ye thynke ye haue eternall lyfe: and they are they which testifie of me.

يذكر أحد الدارسين ان الاستخدام اليونانى للكلمة يعنى البحث الجاد والتنقيب باجتهاد والفحص بتدقيق وحرص، كما يقلب الفلاح قشرة الأرض أوكما يفعل حفارو المناجم بحثاُ عن الذهب
واليك بعض المعانى وهى مجمل للترجمات السابقة وغيرها:-
- السعى وراء المعرفة عن طريق البحث والمراقبة
- ان تقضى وقتاُ للتعلم عن--
- ان تبحث فى شئ ما بعناية لتجد أكثر عنه

والأن ياأخى ياأختى ماالذى كنا نفعله وماالذى تعلمنا ان نفعله وماقررنا أن نفعله تجاه كلمة الله؟
